Salary: Academic A - $83,468 - $113,262 p.a. plus 17% super

As a Post-Doctoral Scientist in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health at the University of Melbourne, you'll be at the forefront of reproductive biology research. Based at the Royal Women's Hospital, you'll investigate uterine contributions to embryo implantation failure and infertility. This role offers you the chance to contribute to innovative research, develop potential biomarkers and therapeutics, and contribute to improving reproductive outcomes across species.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Contribute to Research Projects: Plan, undertake, and analyse research on embryo implantation and fertility regulation.
* Conduct Advanced Experiments: Utilise cutting-edge techniques including RNA sequencing, proteomics, and advanced microscopy.
* Publish and Present: Prepare scientific papers for high-quality journals and present at international conferences.
* Mentor Students: Co-supervise research higher degree and undergraduate students.
* Secure Funding: Assist in writing grant applications for external research funding.
* Collaborate Widely: Work with clinical collaborators and foster relations with the wider community.

You may be a great fit if:

You hold a PhD in a related field such as medicine, health sciences, or biomedical science, with research experience in reproductive biology, fertility, or women's health.

You may also:

* Have excellent laboratory skills, especially in animal studies and cellular/molecular biology techniques.
* Demonstrate a significant research contribution at the national level, including peer-reviewed publications.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Show high-level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Have experience in managing research projects and administrative tasks.

Your new team – Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Newborn Health
The University Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Newborn Health plays a vital role in teaching MD medical students, with approximately 350 students spending 6 weeks each year in the department during their third year. The department's vision is to improve health around the world through research, education and clinical training in obstetrics, gynaecology and newborn health.
