Job Overview
This role involves delivering high-level, strengths-based and trauma-informed support to young people aged 10–17 who are on bail or at risk of entering custody.
* Provide intensive case management and partnership support to young people and families.
* Develop strong, culturally responsive relationships with young people and their families.
* Support access to education, employment, therapeutic services, housing, health, alcohol and other drugs services, and other necessary resources.
* Complete thorough assessments, develop case plans and set goals in partnership with young people and families.
The successful candidate will have experience working with young people who have complex needs and trauma backgrounds, strong communication and de-escalation skills, and a solid understanding of Youth Justice processes and community referral pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Intensive Case Management: Provide individualized support to young people and their families to address their specific needs and circumstances.
* Culturally Responsive Practice: Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with young people and their families from diverse backgrounds.
* Access to Resources: Connect young people and their families with relevant education, employment, therapeutic services, housing, health, alcohol and other drugs services, and other essential resources.
* Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop case plans, and establish goals in collaboration with young people and their families.
Requirements
* Experience: Proven experience working with young people who have complex needs and trauma backgrounds.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
* Youth Justice Knowledge: Strong understanding of Youth Justice processes and community referral pathways.
