Offer description

Senior Physiotherapist | $100k–$130k +

Super + $3k PD + Bonuses | Hobart

By Design Physiotherapy is not your average clinic. We're a fast-growing, strength-first practice with a fully private commercial gym, and we're looking for a senior clinician who knows what to do when someone walks in and needs to get back to what they love.

Not someone who runs through a checklist. Someone who can watch a person move, identify exactly where they are in their rehab phase, and build a structured plan that progresses them forward, every single session until they get there.

We don't just treat pain. We build strength, confidence, and health literacy, and we educate clients from the moment we meet them so they understand not just what we're doing, but why. Pain ending is not the end of treatment here. It's the beginning of the next phase.

This is a senior role. You'll build your caseload quickly - with a clear transition plan and the support of an experienced team and we're looking for someone with the clinical depth to carry it confidently once you do.

Why Join Us?
* $100k–$130k base salary + super + bonuses - top tier for private practice in Hobart

* $3,000 annual professional development budget plus weekly in-house PD

* Weekly mentorship and 1:1 case reviews - you'll be developed, not just managed

* Strength-integrated clinical model - you're operating across the treatment room and the gym floor, depending on where your client is

* 400sqm premium private gym - a genuine clinical tool, not a backdrop

* Top-of-the-line assessment tools - Vald force plates and handheld dynamometry for objective, evidence-driven clinical decision making

* Heidi AI for clinical notes - less energy lost on admin, more directed toward the client in front of you

* Rapidly growing practice with systems and technology built to support meaningful, high-volume clinical impact

Flexible Roster
* Monday to Friday only - no nights, no weekends

* Flexible start and finish times

* 4-day week or standard 5-day options available

What You'll Do
* Build your caseload quickly and carry complex MSK presentations with confidence as it grows - you'll have a structured transition plan and a senior team around you from day one

* Conduct thorough movement analysis at intake, provide a clear evidence-based diagnosis, and use objective testing - including strength and sport-specific capacity testing where clinically indicated - to build a structured plan and know how to progress it through every phase

* Educate clients thoroughly from session one - they should understand their condition, their plan, and their role in it. Education is not a one-off conversation; it's woven into every session

* Progress clients through clear rehab phases toward their actual goals - not toward pain resolution and discharge, but toward the life they want to get back to, or build for the first time

* Work across the treatment room and the gym floor based on clinical reasoning - providing manual therapy where appropriate, moving into the gym as capacity builds, and returning to the clinic as needed. Always dictated by where the client sits in their rehab phase, never by routine

* Build the kind of client relationships that last - you'll likely see this person through multiple seasons of their life, their family, and their health journey. This is a community-driven clinic. That's by design

* Contribute to weekly PD and mentorship as both learner and leader - you know when to listen and when to step up

You'll Thrive Here If You…
* Hold Physiotherapy AHPRA registration and full Australian work rights

* 5+ years private practice or MSK/sport/performance experience or

* An exceptional emerging clinician with the drive, awareness, and skillset to contribute from day one.

* Can integrate strength training into rehab systematically - whether that's return to run, return to sport, return to gym, or return to the garden. You adapt the method to the person in front of you

* Apply thorough movement analysis and objective testing - including load management, tendon pathology, and sport-specific capacity testing where clinically indicated - because they drive better decisions and better outcomes, not because they're protocol. You know when a capacity test changes the plan and when it doesn't

* Are organised and prepared - you put the client first, you plan for what the session needs to achieve, and you don't wing it. You understand how much this matters to the person in front of you, and you show up accordingly

* Practice what you preach - you care about your own health, you're genuinely passionate about physio, you follow the evidence, and you want to keep growing as a clinician and as a person. You're a chameleon in how you communicate - adjusting your style, language, and approach to the person in the room - but you never compromise on care, clarity, or clinical rigour

* Are willing to adapt quickly to a tech-integrated environment - we use Heidi AI, a CRM, and clinical systems that keep admin low and impact high. You don't need to come with all of it, but you need to be the kind of person who gets across it fast

If you're letting clients dictate their session plan based on how they feel that day rather than their actual goals, your testing, and your clinical reasoning, and that feels normal you probably won't fit here. But if you want to have hard conversations, create real lasting change, and work in an environment that's genuinely built to make you better, keep reading.

The Environment You're Stepping Into
* A senior-clinician-only practice - experienced, capable, invested

* 95% private-pay clients who show up, are engaged in their health, and do the work

* A 400sqm gym that functions as a clinical tool across every phase of rehab

* Vald force plates and handheld dynamometry for objective strength and performance testing

* Clear treatment pathways and clinical systems so your energy goes into solutions, accountability, and behaviour change - not paperwork

* A tech-forward, rapidly growing practice - Heidi AI, CRM, and integrated systems that reduce admin and amplify impact

* Weekly PD, weekly mentorship, and a culture that builds you into a more impactful, confident clinician

We don't just treat injuries. We build capacity - physical, psychological, and behavioural. Clients leave here stronger, more informed, and more capable than when they arrived. If that's the standard you want to work to, visit to learn more about how we work.

What You'll Get
* Salary: $100k–$130k base + super + bonuses

* Professional Development: $3,000 annual budget, weekly in-house PD, weekly mentorship

* Flexibility: Monday to Friday, flexible starts and finishes, no nights or weekends

* Benefits: relocation support, free onsite gym membership, birthday leave, team events

* Culture: high standards, accountability, zero bureaucracy - a team that grows together
