Job Description:
The Head Chef will lead kitchen operations at Cooinda Aged Care in Gympie. This role involves running a kitchen and service for 165 residents, designing menus that are fresh, varied, and resident-inspired, leading and motivating a kitchen team, ensuring food safety and hygiene, managing stock and budgets, and collaborating with care teams to meet dietary needs.
Responsibilities:
* Manage kitchen operations to ensure high-quality meals for residents
* Develop and implement menu plans that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs
* Lead and motivate a team of cooks and support staff to achieve excellent results
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
* Manage inventory and budget effectively to minimize waste and optimize resources
* Collaborate with care teams to understand resident needs and preferences
Requirements:
* Significant experience in commercial cookery for large groups
* Strong leadership skills to guide and grow a team
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP compliance
* Qualification in Commercial Cookery
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening or Police Check
* Queensland Driver's Licence
