ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the Operations Manager – Retail is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations within the Retail Department and ensuring ongoing performance against business objectives.

This role is a full time, 12 month contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage warehouse operations across forklift activity, putaway, order assembly, and despatch to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate performance.

Plan, allocate, and prioritise team workloads while maintaining adequate staffing coverage.

Monitor and drive team performance using KPIs, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and DIFOT targets are achieved.

Oversee inbound and outbound workflows, including receipts, replenishment, putaway, and despatch timelines.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth daily operations and timely order fulfilment.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, productivity, and stock accuracy.

Ensure labour, equipment, and materials are effectively managed to meet operational requirements.

Support team leadership through coaching, training, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

Maintain compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and reporting requirements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Demonstrated DC Zone Management Experience
* Experience in managing a DC team of 10 or more employees
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge and experience in Manhattan Scale WMS or similar system
* Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Applications
* Tertiary qualification in warehouse management desirable
