About the role This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. We have multiple casual positions available across our Lifestyles & Supported Living programs, supporting people with disabilities living in the community in Alice Springs. Working in a team, you will be actively supporting their individual complex needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate way. To provide the best support you will be an experienced Disability Support Worker with a range of experience across social support, behaviour support, personal care, complex health needs, manual handling and hoisting. Our clients in Alice Springs enjoy arts & crafts, gardening, dancing, music and engaging in community and culture. These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Key Responsibilities Provide active person-centred support Follow behaviour support plans Promote client goals through enjoyable activities Provide personal care Ensure safe manual handling and hoisting Skills & Experience Personal Care experience Previous experience working with people with complex health needs Experience with behaviours of concern and following behaviour support plans Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence Current Provide First Aid Certificate & CPR Sound understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues affecting Aboriginal people.
