Role Overview Position: Clinical Nurse Consultant - Aged Care Location: Lyell House, West Coast District Hospital, Queenstown (Tasmania) Employment: Permanent, full time (up to 76 hours per fortnight, day work) Purpose: Clinical lead for the residential aged care facility, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care aligned with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards Key Responsibilities Provide senior clinical leadership in aged care and geriatric nursing Act as Infection Prevention & Control Lead for West Coast District Hospital Conduct comprehensive resident assessments and care planning Provide expert clinical advice and support to nursing staff Lead quality improvement, clinical risk management, and compliance activities Support resident lifestyle and activities in collaboration with the Activities Coordinator Assist the NUM and DON with documentation, reporting, policies, and admissions Support education and professional development of staff Skills & Experience Required Advanced clinical expertise in aged care and geriatric medicine Strong leadership, mentoring, and service development capability Demonstrated infection prevention and control experience Experience with quality improvement and aged care compliance Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Act, Quality Standards, and mandatory reporting Eligibility Essential Registered Nurse with AHPRA (NMBA registration) Desirable Relevant postgraduate qualification (or working towards) Infection Prevention & Control qualification (or working towards) Current driver's licence Salary & Benefits Salary: $118,297 - $125,543 per annum 12% superannuation Postgraduate allowance: Up to 10% Remote allowances: $3,797 Remote & Rural Professional Development Allowance 10% remote allowance Salary packaging: Up to $9,010 living expenses Up to $2,650 meal entertainment Additional Benefits Professional development and accelerated career pathways Study leave and professional development support Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employee and family Relocation assistance and accommodation support (where eligible) For more information call Nick on 0419 425 168 or nprokopiec@searsonbuck.com.au
