Platinum Pacific Partners is partnering with a leading ASX-listed alternative investment manager seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join its Sydney-based finance leadership team.
With significant funds under management, the firm manages a diverse range of investment strategies servicing a global client base that includes institutional investors, family offices, charitable organisations and private clients.
This newly created senior role offers the opportunity to play a central role in the finance leadership of a growing global investment platform. The successful candidate will oversee group financial control, statutory reporting and governance, while working closely with senior leadership to continue building a best-in-class finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and strengthen the Group's financial control environment, policies and procedures
* Ensure compliance with ASX listing rules, ASIC regulatory requirements and relevant accounting standards
* Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring disciplined reporting timelines
* Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting efficiency
* Support the outsourcing and governance of payroll processes
* Lead preparation of half-year and full-year statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB/IFRS requirements
* Oversee monthly group consolidation, management reporting and board reporting
* Manage the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and advisors
* Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, including acquisitions, capital transactions and new investment structures
Treasury & Financial Planning
* Oversee group liquidity management and cashflow forecasting
* Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
* Assist with capital management initiatives, including debt facilities and equity raising
* Support the implementation and adoption of planning systems and financial technology tools
Governance & Compliance
* Maintain strong internal control frameworks and governance standards
* Support Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting
* Work closely with tax advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance
Finance Business Partnering
* Partner with senior stakeholders across investment, legal, investor relations and operations teams
* Provide finance oversight and support to subsidiaries and affiliated entities
Leadership
* Lead and develop members of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
* Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management and executive leadership
Strategic Projects
* Support M&A activity and post-acquisition integration
* Assist with the financial structuring of new investment vehicles and strategies
* Contribute to the implementation of emerging regulatory reporting requirements
Candidate Profile
* Degree qualified in Finance, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
* CA or CPA qualification
* 10+ years' experience in financial reporting, financial control or accounting roles
* Experience within funds management, financial services, investment management or listed corporate environments
* Strong experience managing statutory reporting, group consolidation and external audit processes
* Experience working in or with ASX-listed organisations highly regarded
