Maintenance Officer

The Maintenance Officer reports to the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager and works independently to provide reactive and planned preventive maintenance. This role contributes to the supervision and assistance to contractors and requires exercising independent judgment on routine matters.
This position is required to participate in an on-call roster providing service and advice out of normal working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all required maintenance duties and tasks, including work relating to potential relevant refurbishment.
* Undertake a daily operational and maintenance check of all plant, equipment, and buildings.
* Perform general maintenance/handyman duties or work across other trade areas within skill level, as required.
* Demonstrate understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with maintenance of a private hospital facility.
* Participate in after-hours on-call service, performing after-hours maintenance/emergency tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Relevant trade experience is desirable but not necessary (plumbing, mechanical fitter, electrical, or carpentry). Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, preferably hospitals, is also beneficial. A proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required is essential.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to ensure smooth collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
