2026 Graduate Nurse Program - Mental Health Opportunity
Mental Health Nurses work in partnership with consumers to meet their recovery goals. They consider the person's physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, within the context of the individual's lived experience and in partnership with their family, significant others and the broader community.
Responsibilities:
* Support consumers and their families during life crises and transition periods
* Liaise discreetly and efficiently with a range of healthcare providers
* Provide information and education on mental health maintenance and restoration
* Coordinate care and provide talking therapy
Rotations:
* Swanston Centre Acute Inpatient Unit for persons aged 18 years and over
* McKellar Health and Wellbeing Unit for persons aged 50 years and over
* The Community Rehabilitation Facility (CRF) and the Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC)
* Youth Community Mental Health Services for persons aged 16-25 years
* Adult Community Mental Health Services for persons aged ... years
* Aged Community Mental Health Services for persons aged 65 and over
* Drug and Alcohol Service for persons aged 26 years and older
Key Selection Criteria:
* Passionate approach to work within the mental health field
* Ability to work in partnership with consumers and their families
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
