About The Role

As Supervisor Pound Business Operations, you'll lead the daily operations of the Sippy Creek Animal Pound, ensuring the safety, education, and amenity of the Sunshine Coast community. This role coordinates all operational services and administration, driving best-practice animal care and compliance with legislation. You'll champion responsible pet ownership and deliver on the commitments outlined in the Domestic Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Plan 2021–2030, while fostering a positive team culture and exceptional customer service.


As a Requirement Of The Role, You Will

* Lead and manage daily operations at the Sippy Creek Animal Pound, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and best-practice animal care.
* Drive high standards of service delivery in relation to animal compliance and promote responsible pet ownership across the community.
* Support and empower your team to deliver exceptional results, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies.
* Oversee animal intake and release processes, rehoming programs, and veterinary services, while managing budgets and contracts.
* Handle customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism and a focus on positive outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records and governance standards, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to education programs and the Domestic Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Plan 2021–2030.


About You

You're a confident leader with strong time management and organisational skills to manage complex investigations, competing priorities, and diverse stakeholder expectations. You have excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience in conflict management.


To Succeed, You'll Bring

* Tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related discipline.
* Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or equivalent experience.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and compliance standards.
* Proven leadership skills to build high-performing, customer-focused teams.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to prepare professional reports and use business technologies effectively.
* Current "C" Class Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a Blue Card.
* Physical fitness for manual tasks and ability to meet pre-employment checks.
