Mindful Maths Tutoring is a privately owned tutoring business in Heidelberg. It consists of a supportive team of secondary Mathematics teachers, Primary school and pre-service teachers.
An opportunity exists in this rapidly growing business for:
Experienced secondary Maths teachers to tutor students from year 7-10
Qualified Year 11-12 teachers with experience teaching either General Maths or Maths Methods
Qualified Primary school teachers to tutor students from Prep - Grade 6
Pre-service teachers currently studying to be a primary school or secondary school teacher
Learning support officers with experience in working in a school
University students who have previous experience in tutoring Mathematics from year 7-12
All positions involve tutoring individual or group sessions up to a maximum of 4 students at the Mindful Maths and Mindful Primary centres in Heidelberg.
This opportunity is suitable for teachers looking for extra work, are taking a break from teaching in a school or for pre-service teachers and university students seeking teaching experience.
Teachers must be a qualified secondary or primary school teacher with experience in teaching the Victorian curriculum.
Tutoring hours are from 3:30pm to 7:30pm weekdays and 9:00am to 3:00pm Saturdays. However working hours are flexible and can be negotiated with the successful applicants.
All applicants need to have:
The ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
A strong passion for teaching and working with students
Thorough organisational skills in preparing additional resources for students when necessary
The ability to foster student well‑being.
Rates are generally from $50/hr to $100/hr depending on year level and group size for qualified teachers and $40/hr for pre‑service teachers, learning support officers and university students.
