Our staff work to develop strong relationships and a sense of belonging through cultural connections, ensuring students feel connected, cared for, and ready to learn.Role FocusThe focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
The wellbeing professionals employed through the Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools\' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support for students.
The Wellbeing Workforce will ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing skilled at school.ResponsibilitiesAssessing client needs, developing care plans, connecting clients with resources and services, advocating for their rights and offering emotional support.Operate in an advisory and advocacy capacity providing professional services specific to the social work discipline.Respond to the needs of the student population and school community to provide personal and family counselling, therapy and group work, facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals, and coordinate services for student wellbeing and mental health.Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, community and interagency networks relevant to the position.Please view the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities.BenefitsFlexible work options, including the possibility to accrue time off for school holidays.12.75% superannuationSalary packagingOngoing and regular internal supervisionPeer supervisionPD Allowance and internal PD offeringsWork phone and laptop suppliedThe successful candidate will have access to Department of Education housing and may be entitled to relocation support.ApplyAttach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees who understand your relevant work history.Attach a 2-page written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
