The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Senior Natural Areas Officer to join our Natural Areas Team. You will be a passionate team player that has a genuine interest in caring for and improving the City's bushlands, beaches and river foreshore.
Key responsibilities
* Use natural resource management, ecological restoration, or similar knowledge to maintain and improve the City's bushlands, riverine and coastal habitats.
* Supervise, control and program the City's natural areas field operations.
* Foster collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including community groups, to enable the conservation and improvement of the City's natural spaces.
To be considered for this position, you will need
* Qualifications and / or specialist skills in natural resource management, ecological restoration, conservation management or similar
* Excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills in providing specialised advice and developing solutions relevant to natural areas management.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to lead a team and operate as an effective and productive team member.
* Ability to implement safe work practices.
* Functional skills in Microsoft Office, mobile field technology and managing task specific information and technology systems.
* A current WA 'C' class driver's license.
