SMA Australia has a great opportunity for a Quality Manager (Engineering) representing our Quality team in SMA Headquarters in Germany for the Australian subsidiary. This position is located at our Australian Head Office at North Sydney, with a local reporting line into the Managing Director.
About the role:
The Quality Manager will oversee the development and implementation of quality control systems, policies, and procedures in this engineering field manufacturing and selling inverters for solar projects. They will work with the Large Scale team to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory ISO AS/NZS requirements.
The Quality team stand for Customer Satisfaction and Brand Quality and are the voice of the customer. The Quality Manager works for sustainable customer satisfaction and endeavours to solve root causes. They evaluate the processes involved for efficiency and meaningfulness and are the role model for quality mindset and cooperation. The Quality Manager is responsible for the availability of the delivered products to SMA Australia in line with quality standards, and on time.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
* Representing the SMA Quality Management incl. IMS on site and for local / regional matters.
* Identify risks/opportunities, support relevant functions in defining and implementing process improvements to improve internal procedures and communication within the AU subsidiary in collaboration with the relevant function and the HQ.
* Supplier Quality and Development responsibility for Australian major partners.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
* Provide leadership and guidance to employees on quality control standards, processes, and best practices.
* Develop and implement training programs for employees on quality control systems and processes.
* Maintain records of quality control activities, including test results, corrective actions, and other relevant information.
* Analyze data to identify trends and recommend process changes to improve quality and reduce defects.
* Develop a detailed knowledge of SMA's products, associated SMA accessories, and third party accessories that are sold by SMA for use with the inverters.
* Maintain a working knowledge of relevant standards in solar PV installations
* Work closely with the quality team in our Headquarters in Kassel, Germany
* Maintain the highest safety standards in the workplace

Your qualifications and Experience:
* Hold a bachelor's degree in the area of PV/electrical/electronic engineering
* Have 10+ years experience in a quality role or equivalent
* Knowledge of renewable industry regulations and standards AS/NZS (9001, 14001, 27001, 45001, etc.)
* Experience in the use of Salesforce preferred
* Experience with PV products preferred
* CEC Accreditation preferred
