About The Opportunity
As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM, aligned with Australian Coding Standards and SWSLHD policies. You will contribute to health funding mechanisms and support informed clinical and management decision-making. This opportunity offers flexible work practices and a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
* Analyse clinical documentation and abstract relevant clinical and demographic data
* Assign codes using ICD-10-AM classification system and Solventum Codefinder
* Maintain coding accuracy and output in line with NSW Ministry of Health timeframes
* Participate in audits and quality improvement activities
* Stay up-to-date with coding standards, policies, and continuous education
What We're Looking For
* Previous/current work experience in clinical coding preferred or strong aptitude to be trained as an entry-level coder
* Strong understanding of anatomy, disease processes, and medical terminology
* Knowledge of DRGs, Casemix, and episode funding applications
* High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to meet throughput targets
* Commitment to ethical coding and quality documentation practices
