Axis Hire is a rapidly expanding equipment hire company operating nationally, with our head office located in Bunbury, WA. We are a dynamic, fast-paced, and hands-on large proprietary entity that fosters accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across the business.
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.
About the Role
As an Financial Accountant at Axis Hire, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager across all areas of Accounting and Taxation for a diverse portfolio of companies.
Working within a medium-sized accounting team, you will take ownership of a broad range of financial functions including cost and financial management accounting, application of GAAP and taxation legislation, and contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.
Our Corporate ERP system underpins our business operations, so familiarity with configuration, database reporting, and system upgrades will be valuable.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with statutory requirements
* Manage general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close processes
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
* Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and guidance
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls
Experience & Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting and CPA/CA accredited or currently progressing
* 3–5 years' experience in accounting with strong knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
* Advanced Excel skills
* Experience with Power BI and dashboards highly regarded
* Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and within a team
* Payroll experience will be viewed favourably
* Adaptable, proactive, and positive approach to challenges and change
