We are a regional health service that aims to provide comprehensive support to children with developmental delays and disabilities in the Kimberley region.
The Speech Pathologist role is based in Kununurra and will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality speech pathology services to Aboriginal children up to the age of nine who require early intervention and support.
Our goal is to empower Aboriginal families by providing culturally sensitive and family-centred approach to speech pathology services. We work closely with community organisations and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure that our clients receive holistic care and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct evidence-based assessments and interventions for children with speech and language difficulties
* Develop effective strategies to improve accessibility to childhood development services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations
* Collaborate with Family Support Workers to implement the Remote Early Childhood Supports (RECS) Program
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
* Minimum two years of clinical experience, particularly in assessing and managing communication difficulties in children
* Ability to work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary model and demonstrate commitment to family-centred practice
Benefits
* A competitive salary of $127,769 per annum (pro rata)
* An accommodation allowance of $13,000 per annum (pro rata)
* An annual airfare of $1,800 (after 12 months of service) per annum
* An electricity allowance of $1,400 per annum (pro rata)
* Relocation reimbursement up to $5,000 (upon providing receipts)
