**Technical Fashion Designer**

Full time

$70,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

We offer a strategic end-to-end solution in the sourcing, development, production, and distribution of apparel products. Known for our impeccable craftsmanship, our customers receive the benefit of over 35 years expertise in performance têxtile development, garment engineering and manufacturing. With a comprehensive network that reaches from Asia to Europe, we source fabric from some of the world's leading têxtile suppliers. Our factory features a market-leading printing and embellishment department that produces some of the most technically advanced active and swimwear garments in the world.

We are currently expanding and looking for an experience Technical Fashion Designer to grow with us in our global head office in Brisbane, Queensland

To be successful, you will need:

- a minimum of Diploma level education and 5 years work experience.
- Experienced in working with clients and people from a vast cultural background and high-volume manufacturing facilities.
- Experience in the design and development of activewear, selecting fabric and patterns, sample making, form, fit, prototypes, pre-production samples and sign off for bulk production.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin and has a high competency in writing English and Chinese

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, responsibilities include:

- Coordinate the Client design: receive Tech Packs, check all contents with positive input where supported by your experience, concerning the design, têxtiles, the pattern and construction considering functional, commercial, cultural, artistic and visual requirements.
- Review, analyse and comment on samples or illustrations provided, and models to ensure design concept and constraints are communicated accurately
- Act in the commissioning and development of prototype samples, that embody the design, function and form, with technical comments on form and fit to achieve production-viable garments that retain the essential design elements. Consider sketches, diagrams, illustrations, manufacturing plans, samples and models, to communicate design and its concepts with the factory, and with comments to the Brand Owner.
- Support the Client, and access network of suppliers, to source accessories such as zips, fasteners, finishes and contemporary features that embody the garment concept and design.
- Prior to bulk production, check form and fit, using mannequins and where practical, live models, with final functional and aesthetic comments that are communicated to the factory by providing a detailed documentation of the selected design for production.
- Represent the Client in dealing with the manufacturing stage, including the sending of pre-production samples and patterns before sign off on bulk production.
- Ensure the techniques and process from design to manufacturer are logical and practical to produce. Familiar with construction, fabric types, practical consequences of form and fit.
- Supervise and responsible for Purchase Orders, the Production Plan, ex factory date, labelling and packaging.
- Document each stage of the process from hand over of original design, through sampling, construction comments, costing, manufacture and delivery. Collect and archive all records relating to design / production of every style for reference and potential repeat garments.
- Maintain Client data to ensure positive management of each Account, including data on order volumes, quantities, cost of production and the commercial relationship.
