Program Engineering Liaison Officer Job Description

The Navy is seeking highly skilled and experienced Program Engineering Liaison Officers to fill multiple vacancies.

* Develop, maintain, and implement key customer relationships.
* Assist with early stage requirements development and compliance activities with program sponsors.
* Integrate and deliver engineering products and services to new projects, in-build programs, and in-service assets.

About the Role:

Navy Engineering Branch are looking for Program Engineering Liaison Officers (PELOs) who will provide critical systems engineering services and engineering liaison functions across the entire lifecycle of maritime programs.

Responsibilities include synthesizing the provision of specialist engineering and technical advice, developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Navy Material Governance and Seaworthiness Management System framework, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

Key duties:

* Work closely with Navy, Defence acquisition, and sustainment organisations, and industry.
* Develop and integrate engineering products and services to new projects, in-build programs, and in-service assets.
* Facilitate engineering advice to customers using recognised engineering authorities.

Navy Engineering is the trusted entity responsible for providing specialist engineering expertise needed to develop, deliver, and sustain maritime capability.

The application of this engineering expertise contributes to business outcomes including enabling Navy to comprehend complex technical capabilities, identifying and managing risks with maritime capabilities, capturing and maintaining technical knowledge for efficient use, and ensuring Navy is an intelligent and informed customer.

Key team responsibilities:

* Develop, identify, apply, measure, and advise on Navy's materiel requirements.
* Identify and contribute to implementation of solutions working with industry and other parts of Defence.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will require:

* Leadership skills to mentor your team through clear instruction, knowledge sharing, and experience.
* Highly motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
* Strong understanding of engineering due diligence and safety management principles.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Influence both strategically and tactically on a broad range of technical issues.
