Sacred Heart Catholic School Ulverstone provides a Catholic education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and is located on the picturesque northwest coast of Tasmania. We are situated within the Mersey Leven Parish and are an integral part of the Ulverstone community. Sacred Heart Catholic School Ulverstone has been providing a Catholic education for students since 1889, established by the Sisters of St Joseph and currently offers co‐educational classes for approximately 300 students.
About The Role
The Teacher Assistant is accountable for the effective delivery of quality educational support for students to enable enhanced learning outcomes. The role provides support to teachers in the delivery of defined educational programs and activities and interventions for students.
Key aspects of the role
* Provide support to the teachers in the delivery of educational programs to students across 3 different classrooms.
* Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas.
* Assist student learning, where discretion and judgement is required, including providing more individualised approaches and intervention strategies, and assisting in identification of learning needs and evaluation of progress.
* Assist teachers to support participation and learning for students across the full range of physical and intellectual abilities and from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Qualifications
Required
* Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania).
* Current and satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check (NPCHC).
Desirable
* Completion of Certificate III in Education Support or Cert III Early Childhood Education (or working towards).
* Completion of Year 12 or a Certificate I or II, with relevant experience and or education/training; or
* An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training with Education sector experience.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
