Offer description

We are seeking a proactive, technically adept, and strategic Cybersecurity Analyst to join our growing Technology team in Maroochydore, Australia. This foundational role in the newly established Cybersecurity Team will shape the systems, processes, and governance that will strengthen and sustain CV's global security posture. The Cybersecurity Analyst will contribute across threat monitoring, policy and standards development, ISMS implementation, and the maturation of incident response practices. Working collaboratively with the Head of Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, and partnering with both the Infrastructure and Support teams, this role helps build a secure, resilient, and forward-leaning technology environment that supports CV's global operations.

Reporting to: Head of Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

Who We Are

CV (Christian Vision) is a global organization that exists to introduce people to Jesus and encourage them to become his true followers. Founded in 1988 by Robert Edmiston, CV is driven by a pioneering spirit embracing creativity and innovation to advance evangelism through new horizons, in both physical and digital realms.

Are you passionate about sharing the gospel and motivated by a desire to create meaningful change at scale? CV offers a unique mission-driven opportunity to join a team forging bold frontiers in evangelism.

Specific Responsibilities

* Act as a first responder for security alerts and potential incidents - performing triage, basic investigation, and documentation.
* Assist in standing up core cybersecurity tooling, including SIEM, EDR, logging pipelines, and vulnerability scanners.
* Help define and implement detection rules, escalation workflows, and incident response procedures in collaboration with the Infrastructure Engineers.
* Contribute to the design and rollout of CV's Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO27001.
* Support secure onboarding of new systems and services by participating in architecture reviews and project consultations.
* Assist in building internal documentation and knowledge bases for use by Service Desk and other technical teams.
* Collaborate with Infrastructure and Support to enforce patching, hardening, and endpoint compliance processes.
* Participate in security simulations and tabletop exercises; help analyse findings and mature incident readiness.
* Contribute to awareness initiatives such as phishing simulations, user education materials, and "cyber hygiene" campaigns.
* Engage in continuous learning to stay up to date with evolving threats, tools, and standards — and bring fresh thinking to a growing team.

General responsibilities

Fulfil all duties outlined above for this specific role, and as directed below for all team members within CV. This includes, but is not limited to:

* Actively pursue personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
* Contribute positively to our team culture by upholding CV's values in attitude and action.
* Comply with all CV policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all matters.
* Engage fully in staff and team meetings, collaboration, and communication.
* Commit to continuous learning and development as needed for the role.
* Foster respectful, clear, and constructive communication across all interactions.
* A practising Christian in full agreement with the CV Statement of Faith.
* Actively involved in a local church or Christian faith community.
* Committed to living according to biblical values.

Skills, Experience and Education

* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or Digital Forensics
* 1–3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC environments, or IT security-related roles.
* Experience working with or implementing cybersecurity tooling such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint compliance systems.
* Familiarity with threat detection principles, log analysis, and incident response workflows.
* Understanding of ISO27001, NIST, or other cybersecurity frameworks — including their implementation from scratch.
* Practical knowledge of Windows and cloud environments (e.g. Azure/M365 /AWS) from a security perspective.
* Ability to translate technical threats into clear risks and actions for a non-technical audience.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and departments.
* Self-starter attitude with a desire to help build a program from the ground up.
