**The Role**
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to take on the exciting position of livestock manager on a family-owned property located at Mansfield which covers 2600ha. The property runs a flock of 18,000 fine-wool Merino sheep and a self-replacing herd of 1200 Angus cattle. You will report directly to the farm owner and supervise a team of workers. Your responsibilities cover many general farm duties and working with management and other employees on all Delatite Grazing properties.
The focus is to work as efficiently and safely as possible as part of the team to achieve the required animal husbandry outcomes.
We are seeking a hardworking person with 5 years of livestock management experience to join the team in undertaking all day-to-day operations.
**Livestock Management**
- Organising the mustering of all livestock and ensuring that Mobble is always kept up to date with stock moves and animal husbandry events.
- In conjunction with the farm manager, you will be responsible to organise and perform a program of all animal husbandry activities that include but are not limited to lamb and calf marking, pregnancy testing, shearing, and joining rams and bulls.
- Run the shed at shearing and crutching
- have adequate sheep numbers yarded for the day, make sure shearing equipment is in good working condition and supplies are sourced, organise the loading and trucking of all wool bales.
**General farm duties**
- Maintaining all fences and gates, constructing new plantation and subdivision fences.
- Pasture management
- control any weeds that need spray, assure livestock conditions and pasture levels across all properties are monitored, and fed out grain and hay to livestock when needed.
- Monitor stock watering systems and general maintenance of all farm vehicles and ATVs.
For this position, a team of good working dogs is essential as all mustering is conducted in a low-stress manner on ATVs and motorbikes with working dogs.
