WesTrac is one of the world's largest Caterpillar dealers with more than 20 locations across NSW/ACT and over 1500 employees, including 100 apprentices.
We develop our team members so they can reach their full potential through our in-house Registered Training Organisation (RTO-50737) and on-the-job training.
You will gain a nationally recognised trade qualification and industry exposure upon completion of our Apprenticeship program.
About the WesTrac Apprenticeship Program
An Apprenticeship with WesTrac allows you to earn while you learn.
The Apprenticeship lasts for a 4 or 5-year period and includes regular travel to our Head Office in Tomago for training.
During these training periods, the company covers travel expenses and provides meals and accommodation.
You can expect to spend time in workshops, customer sites, and field service opportunities throughout your apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, diagnose and repair a vast range of Caterpillar Mobile Plant equipment
* Perform component overhauls and planned component change outs
* Assemble new machines to customer specifications
* Interpret schematics and technical drawings
* Service machines and write service reports
* Rebuild machines
* Safely operate workshop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes and tools
* Maintain a safe working environment
* Navigate Caterpillar systems to ensure all work is done in accordance with Caterpillar's quality standard
About You
* 16 years of age or over by December 9th, 2025
* Great communication, reading and writing skills
* Interest and passion for machinery and hands-on learning
* Driver's licence and reliable transport OR close to obtaining driver's licence with ability to get to and from work each day and to our Tomago Head Office for training (approx. 1 week per month in your first year)
* Honest and reliable nature with a team-oriented mindset
