THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Quality & Production Engineer to join our Sydney manufacturing team on a full‐time, permanent basis. Reporting to the WHS Manager, this is a hands‐on role embedded within production, responsible for ensuring quality excellence across the manufacturing lifecycle while actively supporting production outcomes.
This role suits someone who enjoys being on the floor, solving problems in real time, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring products are built right the first time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality & Compliance
Ensure products meet customer requirements, Australian Standards, and ISO 9001.
Conduct in‐process and final inspections across electric bus assembly.
Manage non‐conformances, CAPA, ISIRs, audits, and quality reporting.
Work with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications.
Monitor supplier performance and manage corrective actions.
Act as the quality contact for customers and internal teams.
Provide hands‐on quality support on the production floor.
Identify and resolve production issues, risks, and bottlenecks.
Support lean, continuous improvement, and quality‐related change initiatives.
Safety & Environment
Work in line with WHS and environmental requirements.
Participate in safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
ABOUT YOU
Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality‐focused role within a manufacturing environment (automotive or heavy manufacturing preferred).
Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ideally ISO 9001.
Hands‐on problem‐solving capability with a root‐cause mindset.
High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‐functionally.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Formal qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial) or Quality.
Experience in bus, coach, automotive, heavy vehicle, or EV manufacturing.
Electrical or high‐voltage systems exposure.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
CAD software proficiency.
WHS White Card; forklift or EWP licence advantageous.
