Aged Care Volunteer Visitor to read and play cards - Warrnambool VIC ****
The Role:The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated, to build friendships and reduce feelings of loneliness.
In your volunteer role you will be paired with a female in her mid 90s to provide them regular social support visits in their residential aged care home.
During your visit you will read short stories and poetry, play cards, have a conversation and could include playing board games.

This female currently resides in a Residential Aged Care Home in Warrnambool VIC ****.
She enjoys poetry and short stories, especially Irish and Australia and playing cards.
She would be delighted to have a new social connection in her life for regular social conversations.

About You
Lives in and around Warrnambool or happy to travel
Possess clear communication skills
Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener
Passionate about giving back to your community
Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained
Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program
Availability for a flexible six-month commitment
Time Commitment
1 hour per week or fortnight, Tuesday or Thursday afternoon between 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
