* Full time, Temporary role – until June 2027
* Office location based in Parramatta with hybrid working supported
* Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $146,665 pa plus superannuation





The Sustainable Homes team has a unique opportunity for a Senior Policy & Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the delivery of a priority action under the NSW Consumer Energy Strategy to implement voluntary disclosure of home energy ratings.

About the role
This is a high-impact role where you'll work closely with the Manager and team to lead the development and delivery of a NSW Government implementation plans supporting market readiness for a future transition to mandatory disclosure.



You'll provide day-to-day leadership of staff and oversee the successful delivery of this key project, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and in line with program objectives.



The role involves extensive stakeholder engagement with industry and close collaboration with the Commonwealth Government, alongside core project management responsibilities such as reporting, briefings, and ministerial correspondence as required.

About You
You will bring your industry knowledge and experience across areas including stakeholder management and engagement, program management, robust governance and exceptional customer service. 



 
To be successful in this role, you will have: 

* Exceptional proven stakeholder engagement and management skills.
* Experience with market readiness and development.
* Experience leading a project team, ensuring outcomes are met whilst team culture is front of mind.
* Experience within the residential sector and relevant projects.  
* A strong understanding of project methodologies and experience in all phases of project management from design, implementation and evaluation within a complex environment, to ensure outcomes are delivered on time, budget and to quality standards. 
* Understanding and experience conducting government-related procurement and contract management processes (incl. development of scope of requirement and approach to market).




About the team
The Sustainable Homes program aims to create mainstream demand and supply for quality homes that are comfortable and healthier to live in, affordable, and have a positive impact on our environment. To achieve this, we take a market-led approach, by working collaboratively with key industry and jurisdictional partners, to develop solutions that meet both government, industry and householders' needs.



The team will deliver Action 19 of the Consumer Energy Strategy by implementing voluntary disclosure of home energy ratings in NSW and advising the NSW Government on when and how to move to mandatory disclosure. This is a high-priority project.



It will be a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to work in an environment at the crossroad of policy and system wide program development and to build strong relationships across the building sector, NSW government and the Commonwealth government, while working in a fun and dynamic team.
