Role Overview:
As the DFV Specialist - Counsellor Case Manager, you'll focus on the provision of specialist supports to Women impacted by Domestic and Family Violence. You will work collaboratively as part of the Services Team to deliver a service aligned to the strategic direction of, and consistent with the values of Mackay Women's Services.
What You'll Do:
You are responsible for the delivery of specialist domestic and family violence intervention counselling, case management, crisis response, risk assessment, safety planning, court assistance, education and integrated service responses within a trauma-informed practice framework to support the safety of, and enhance the lives of, women and their children.
In addition, you will work within the practice principles, standards and guidance for Domestic and Family Violence services.

Qualifications:
* Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related discipline, and registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with appropriate professional representative/governing body (i.e., AHPRA; AASW) -or- Diploma of Counselling with registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
* Applied knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, specifically Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
* Driver's License.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.
* Current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.
* A good understanding of trauma theory, to inform assessment and decision making.
* Sound understanding and knowledge of QLD Child Protection system and relevant legislation including the Child Protection Act 1999.
