Primary objective
Provide advice regarding digitisation of business processes to gain operational efficiency and /or increase in service delivery
capability. Undertake the development and implement a broad range of digitisation projects from early inception to detailed
implementation including training operational staff and monitoring post implementation for compliance and adjustments to new
processes.
Context statement
The position is a stand-alone role that works independently to develop and implement business process enhancements by digitising
permit systems related to civil assets.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake research and development that improves service delivery by modernising of systems and practices across a specialist
topic relevant to public infrastructure and civil industry.
1. Assist with the provision of specialist advice regarding digitising business systems, including the assessment, analysis, design,
development, testing, documentation and implementation of solutions to problems and request for change.
3. Undertake a lead role in the project delivery from scope to implementation, training and post review of digitised systems, both
new and upgrades. Ensuring appropriate governance and risk management frameworks are in place, particularly the
identification and mitigation of risks and assist with procurement and contract management as needed.
1. Identify, document, develop, implement, maintain, enhance enterprise and business level systems within the Branch that aim to
achieve the strategies / initiatives of the Government of the day. Including documenting functional systems requirements and
processes to deliver improvements in information systems, information management, practices and procedures.
1. Collaborate within the Division and across the Department with colleagues to identify, develop and/or implement new
standards, systems and/or processes that has a customer experience.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in business system enhancements of digital workflow systems or PC data base systems.
2. Well-developed knowledge of enterprise level information technology management systems, applications and agency business
workflows to successfully support and/or undertake technical investigations, analyse and resolve issues.
3. Demonstrated experience supporting program and project delivery, preferably in topic area of digital systems.
4. High level communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills to present messages confidently in a clear, concise and articulate
manner using the most appropriate medium for conveying information to a variety of audiences
5. Proven ability to manage own workload with constantly changing priorities, work independently under limited direction and
coordinate a range of priorities to meet critical timelines and required outcomes in an environment of ongoing change,
uncertainty and pressure.
Desirable
1. Tertiary Qualifications in a related discipline, e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management.
