The Wall & Floor Tiler will be responsible for laying ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass tiles
on internal and external walls and floors to achieve high-grade protective and decorative
finishes. This is a full-time position requiring technical skill, accuracy, and adherence to
building standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Examine plans, measure and mark surfaces, and prepare work layouts.
* Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive; clean and repair surfaces before installation.
* Spread adhesive and set tiles into correct position.
* Use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, fittings and pipe openings.
* Ensure correct alignment, spacing, and levelling of tiles.
* Apply grout and clean tiles to achieve high-quality finishes.
* Apply waterproofing systems as required.
* Lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition when needed.
* Create mosaic or patterned tile designs.
* Maintain workplace safety and follow construction and waterproofing standards.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
* Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
* Diploma of Building and Construction (desirable).
* Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in a similar setting.
This role is required to meet ongoing residential construction demands within Sky Homes.
The business currently undertakes multiple home-building projects that require qualified tiling specialists to ensure timely completion and compliance with industry standards.
