Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is seeking a highly motivated and effective Vocational Education and Training (VET) Program Coordinator.

Situated 50 kilometres south of Perth, WCHS is located in the beach‐side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. WCHS provides a vibrant and nurturing learning environment that takes a holistic approach to the growth and development of our students. The WCHS community works together to develop students with strong aspirations and a self‐belief in achieving success now and in the future. WCHS is focused on improving student outcomes through meeting students at their point of need.

Our moral purpose is 'to make a positive difference to the lives of young people'. As a teacher at WCHS, you will be part of a professional learning community committed to engaging in practice supported by evidence and research, to best meet the need of our students. WCHS embeds explicit teaching approaches across all Learning Areas.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join our leadership team as the VET and Careers Coordinator at WCHS. In this role, you are expected to lead, manage, and plan the school's VET, Year 9/10 Careers, and Workplace Learning programs, collaborating closely with the Student Services Manager and Associate Principal. A key focus of the position involves reviewing, analysing and enriching VET pathways and maintaining strategies to align student and industry needs and to maximise student education, employment and training options including school metric data. Additionally, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including families, to facilitate the effectiveness of VET competency development and build strategic partnerships to facilitate effective links with industry, further education and training providers. Please note, there is a teaching load with this position.

The successful applicant should have an understanding of vocational education within the Peel region context and the ability to design, implement and continuously improve programs that support students in achieving their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). We are looking for a professional with strong strategic and operational capability who can confidently lead a range of staff, manage complex program requirements, and utilise data to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes. As an active member of our leadership team, you would be expected to contribute directly to whole‐school priorities, ensuring our vocational pathways are highly effective, well‐aligned, and structured to guide students toward clear, meaningful post‐school success.
