The role

Roster Options include 5:2 / 4:3 (10 hour days), 9:5 (10 hour days), or 8:6 (12 hour days).

About the role

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll be at the forefront of fostering a proactive safety culture across both open cut and underground mining environments. Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Safety, Health and Emergency Response, you'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and influencing safe behaviours on site.

This is a hands on position where you'll work closely with operational teams to provide practical support and deliver impactful safety initiatives.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading risk assessments, incident investigations (including ICAMs), and internal audits.
  • Building strong relationships across departments and mentoring supervisors and workers in the field.
  • Delivering engaging safety training and supporting return-to-work processes.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of safety performance data to inform decision-making.

With the option of a 5:2/ 4:3 residential roster (10 hour days) or an 8:6 roster (12 hour days), you can choose the work pattern that best suits your lifestyle.

About you

You're a confident communicator and safety professional who thrives in dynamic, high risk environments. You bring a practical approach to problem solving and a genuine passion for influencing safe behaviours.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A Diploma or higher in WHS and at least 5 years' experience in mining or similar high-risk industries.
  • Strong capability in risk management, audits, ICAM investigations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety systems (INX experience highly regarded).
  • The ability to develop WHS documentation and procedures that drive compliance and engagement.
  • High-risk work licenses will be highly regarded.
