Role Overview
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive mental health services to children and young people. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice and triage to the public and other professionals.
The service you will be working with is the entry point for all referrals into Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS). With a rapidly expanding CYMHS Service, it is essential that children and young people receive timely and appropriate service provision.
The Role's Key Responsibilities
* Undertake statewide specialist functions for assigned referrals to and contacts with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), assessing the nature of the referral or contact, gathering collateral information as required, and determining an appropriate response pathway.
* Prioritise all contacts and referrals in accordance with assessed individual needs and presenting risks, working closely with the appropriate care stream to facilitate a response within the required timeframe.
Your Key Deliverables
* Deliver assertive, comprehensive community-based mental health services, including conducting initial assessments, mental state examinations, risk assessments, formulating management plans, delivering brief psychotherapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and facilitating internal and external referrals.
* Proactively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and deliver comprehensive handovers of all referrals.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to promote seamless access to specialist services and transfer of care.
