**Position overview**:
The Student Life Student Casual is a member of the Student Life team within the University Experience portfolio under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic. There are two Student Life streams with positions available; when applying, please indicate which role you are interested in. You can indicate one particular role, or if you would like to be considered for either.
Applicants must be willing to obtain an ACT Working With Vulnerable People Check and for the Student Equity role must also be willing to obtain a NSW Working With Children Check.
**Community Engagement**:
Community Engagement stream within the ANU Student Life team is seeking a suitably qualified applicant for the role of Student Leader for the Kitchen Garden program and with a potential to support the wider Student Life team.
Reporting to the Kitchen Garden Project Officer, Community Engagement stream, Student Life, the Student Leaders are responsible for providing support for the delivery of community development programs to the wider student population. Student Leaders will work in partnership with the Kitchen Garden Project Officer and with a variety of other internal and external stakeholders to assist in various tasks as required.
This role will report to the Student Life Officer - Community Engagement
**Student Equity**:
The Student Equity Stream within the ANU Student Life team is seeking a pool of casual student staff members (Student Leaders) to assist in the Outreach program and the ANU Explorer Program. The Student Equity Stream focuses on groups who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education, including rural, regional, remote, low-SES, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. We interact with these groups before they access higher education. The program builds aspiration in school students and persons within our partner communities, by meeting the students where they are and supporting them to get where they aspire to be, especially through higher education.
**Applicants with lived experience from a traditionally under-represented background are strongly encouraged to apply. This includes rural, regional, remote, low-SES, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and first generation / first in family (if parents/guardians have not attended university or with an Out of Home Care experience). Students with refugee experience are also encouraged to apply.**
This role will report to the Student Life Officer, Student Equity.
