Join our team as a BI Support Consultant, where you’ll own and manage our IBM Cognos Analytics platform from the operating system up. This is not a report-development or dashboard-design role – it’s a hands-on technical position focused on performance, reliability and security. Where You’d Be Working Our Support Consultants work in our North Ryde office as part of our NSW Branch. We also have offices in Melbourne and Brisbane, if those locations are better for you. What you’d be doing (your day will look like this): Responsibilities You will be responsible for administering and diagnosing issues within the Cognos platform and its supporting infrastructure, including Linux servers, email relays and database connectivity. Your day-to-day will involve: Administering, patching, and performance-tuning IBM Cognos Analytics on Linux (RHEL). Troubleshooting email notification processes inside Cognos. Managing Cognos content store databases (SQL Server, Informix) – backups, reorganizations, connectivity. Linux server administration and basic shell scripting for automation and monitoring. Troubleshooting Java applications (heap dumps, logs). Working with networking components (firewalls, basic networking and authentication). About You We’re looking for a BI Support Consultant who has: Experience with Business Intelligence (Cognos is a real bonus). Problem solving and issue resolution with attention to detail. Solid troubleshooting skills for Java-based applications. Knowledge of networking and authentication fundamentals. Technical background in systems administration and infrastructure is a bonus. Some experience with Linux (RHEL) and enterprise databases (Informix, SQL Server, Postgres). Basic scripting skills (bash/shell; Python is a bonus). Knowledge of Pronto Xi or similar ERP software. A team player with strong interpersonal skills. A positive ‘can do’ attitude and work ethic. If you don’t have any experience with some of these points – don’t worry.
