DVConnect is one of Queensland's most significant specialist services supporting people affected by domestic, family and sexual violence, violent crime and interpersonal trauma. Across its services, DVConnect provides crisis response, safety planning, counselling, emergency transport and accommodation, supported access to secure refuges, victim support, referral pathways and specialist programs for people at moments of acute risk and need.
The Director, Practice Excellence will oversee the frameworks, standards and capability that underpin this work.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and contributing as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership across practice excellence, clinical supervision, quality and training, workforce capability, continuous improvement and client safety. Your focus will be to ensure practice across DVConnect is safe, trauma-informed, evidence-informed, culturally responsive, consistent and grounded in dignity, autonomy and respect.
This is a role for a contemporary practice leader with credibility in domestic and family violence, sexual violence, trauma, mental health, victim support or a related human services context. You will understand the complexity of crisis and single-session work, bringing the judgement to lead in environments where risk, urgency and distress are part of the everyday operating context.
This role is a key influencer of practice. You will work close to the realities of service delivery, supporting practitioners who do complex and emotionally demanding work, while challenging and strengthening the frameworks that guide quality, safety and decision-making. Leading a portfolio that includes Quality and Training and Clinical Supervision, you will help build workforce capability, embed reflective supervision, strengthen inclusive practice, and use evidence, data, lived experience and client feedback to drive improvement.
