Head Fitter/Maintenance Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Fitter/Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team at Fyshwick, Canberra Region.

Key Responsibilities
1. Prioritise safety and adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
2. E nsure maximum uptime and efficiency of mill mechanical and electrical systems.
3. Plan and execute a proactive maintenance schedule.
4. Oversee the completion of planned, unplanned, and requested maintenance tasks.
5. Lead, develop, and manage the fitter team at the mill.
6. Conduct thorough fault-finding analysis and resolve maintenance issues promptly to minimise production impact.
7. Collaborate with management, supervisors, and operators to resolve breakdowns effectively.
8. Ensure all work meets industry standards, legislation, and company procedures, maintaining accurate documentation.
About You
* You are a dynamic, motivated, and passionate individual who is dedicated to your role and team.
* You hold a Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification and have demonstrated experience in managing teams.
* You possess strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and electrical systems, as well as experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC operation.
* You are able to read and interpret schematic drawings, plans, and specifications, and have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
* You have effective time management and organisational abilities, and are capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks to minimise downtime.
Requirements
* Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification.
* Demonstrated experience in managing teams.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and electrical systems.
* Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC operation (desirable).
* Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, plans, and specifications.
* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Effective time management and organisational abilities.
