About The Role
The Senior Payroll Specialist supports the Finance Operations Lead in the delivery of TasTAFE's Payroll responsibilities. This includes end-to-end payroll processing, compliance obligations, calculations, potential remediation actions and continuous improvement initiatives across TasTAFE.
Working with significant autonomy, you will handle end to end payroll cycles, interpret complex Enterprise Agreements and manage external vendor performance. You will also be a key driver of continuous improvement, identifying and delivering remediation actions and streamlining payroll workflows.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Processing end-to-end payrolls within defined Service Level Agreements for internal and external stakeholders
* Analyse, calculate, and process a range of transactions that will include complex payroll matters.
* Drive continuous improvement activities across the payroll lifecycle.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations including PAYG, superannuation and other applicable legislation.
* Supporting the administration of the Payroll System and Payroll Manual.
* Responding to queries from the Tasmanian Audit Office and managing internal service level agreements.
About You
* Payroll Expertise: Proven experience in end-to-end payroll management and a deep understanding of Fair Work Enterprise Agreements.
* Analytical Rigour: The ability to simplify complex issues and achieve results in a dynamic environment.
* Technical Proficiency: Expertise in computerised payroll systems and the ability to customise detailed reports, identify discrepancies and troubleshoot as required.
* Communication Skills: High-level interpersonal skills to consult and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
* Organisational Excellence: The capacity to coordinate competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
* Essential: Current Registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania or the ability to obtain.
* Desirable: Experience with EmpowerHR or other enterprise Payroll Solutions.
* Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
* Desirable: A current Tasmanian Driver License.
