About Kurrajong Hotel
In the heart of Erskineville, the soon-to-open Kurrajong Hotel is set to become the locals’ current favourite. Alongside classic Australian pub dining, the venue will feature a boutique hotel for guests seeking comfort with a community feel. Operating 7 days a week, the Kurrajong Hotel will serve lunch and dinner daily, plus brunch on weekends, making it a true hub for locals and visitors alike.
About the Roles
We’re searching for a Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead our kitchen from new opening. These hands-on roles are all about building culture, setting standards, and leading by example.
Develop menus showcasing classic pub favourites with thoughtful twists
Build, coach, and inspire the kitchen brigade
Manage recipe costing, COGS, wage control, and kitchen financials
Ensure HACCP and OH&S; compliance is upheld
Collaborate closely with FOH to deliver seamless service
About You
Minimum 3 years in a leadership role (Sous Chef or above)
Excellent organisational and menu-planning skills
Strong knife skills and knowledge of classic Australian pub fare
Financial acumen: confident with cost control, rosters, and maintenance budgets
HACCP knowledge essential; Food Safety Supervisor Certificate required (facilitated if not held)
A natural mentor who thrives on developing others
Full Australian work rights and evening/weekend availability
