Diesel Mechanic

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its team in Sydney. Reporting to the Manager in Sydney and working closely with the Technical Support Engineer and Leading Hand, this role is focused on the servicing, repair, and maintenance of large industrial 4-stroke diesel engines and associated sub-assembly equipment.
Your new role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overhauling engines and components, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of service activities. Daily collaboration with internal stakeholders, including workshop staff and service engineers, is essential to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of service delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
Applicants must hold a relevant trade certificate in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering Fitting, or a similar qualification, and have hands-on experience in a comparable role. Strong communication skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The role also requires effective computer skills for completing job reports, timesheets, and email correspondence.
