Workfast is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our clients team at an automated facility in Cairns QLD.
* $60 per hour + shift allowances + super

We're seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician with strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. This is a great opportunity to join a growing automation team and work on advanced conveyor systems in a dynamic environment. What you need:
* Mechanical trade qualification
* SCADA system experience
* Experience with mechanical drives (gearboxes, conveyors)
* Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics (solenoid valves, cylinders, flow regulators)
* Ability to interpret mechanical assembly drawings
* Current full driver's licence or airside driver's licence
* Willingness to work rotating shifts
What you will be doing:
* Performing diagnostic tests on automated equipment
* Following preventive maintenance plans
* Troubleshooting and repairing breakdowns and malfunctions
* Rectifying mechanical and communication faults
* Monitoring SCADA systems for faults or alerts
* Supporting the automation maintenance team in achieving optimal uptime
