We have an exciting permanent, part-time prospect (3 days per week but flexible) in our Advanced Nutrition Unit (ANU) for a R&D; Technical Officer. The role will support ANU's NPD Manager in the development of new materials and the creation of new products and processes, and would be suited to someone currently studying nutrition or food science.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct and manage trials on pilot plant equipment
- Conduct and manage tests and assessments on trial product
- Record and report trial and test results in an appropriate format
- Maintain and clean pilot plant and test equipment
- Develop and optimise trial processing equipment and systems
- Contribute to ANU's planning and review meetings and ideation
- Adhering to safe work practices, GMP and HACCP principles

The successful applicant will have:

- Certificate in Food Technology or related field
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Experience in a FMCG or technical area is desirable
- Knowledge of basic food regulations and food safety
- Knowledge of basic HACCP as it applies to food production
- Strong customer focus
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Basic mathematical and statistical capability
- The ability to operate machinery safely in an R&D; environment
- The ability to work at any Sanitarium site in Lake Macquarie or NSW Central Coast as required.

The position reports to the ANU NPD Lead Scientist and is based in Cooranbong and the NSW Central Coast. It is part of our small and pioneering ANU team who are focused on genuinely changing lives and delivering outstanding business results.
