PLC Programmer / Automation and Controls

Primarily responsible for service and support functions across multiple client accounts, involving implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of control systems to ensure 24/7 facilities operations. Also supports project teams designing customer building automation projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Service and Support:
* Perform inspections, maintenance, and software updates of control systems
* Address system malfunctions promptly
* Implement upgrades to improve efficiency
* Monitor support channels and track KPIs
* Respond to incidents and outages
* Manage shift schedules for 24/7 coverage
* Act as escalation point and collaborate with technical teams
1. Instrumentation & Electrical Design:
* Create instrument lists from P&ID drawings
* Prepare documentation for controls and hardware
* Support panel fabrication technicians
2. System Design and Configuration:
* Participate in design reviews
* Configure systems, user interfaces, and control algorithms
* Draft documentation and assist in demonstrations
3. Onsite System Startup:
* Install software and configurations onsite
* Perform calibration, tuning, and functional testing
* Develop test plans and training materials
4. Working Conditions:
* On-call rotation, 24/7 availability
* Travel to facilities for installation and troubleshooting
* Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications:
* Experience in service/support in a 24/7 environment
* Associate's Degree in mechanical or electrical field or relevant background
* Technical experience with specific control systems (Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
* HVAC knowledge and experience in building automation systems preferred
