Health Information Manager Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health Information Manager to join our team as Operations Lead. This key role involves coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of our coding portfolio, assessing resources required to support clinical coding operations, and staff management of Health Information Managers/Clinical Coders.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the coding portfolio within the Coding & Casemix Services
* Assess and determine resources required to support clinical coding operations to meet internal and external KPIs/targets
* Staff management of Health Information Managers (HIMs)/Clinical Coders including rosters, leave and recruitment
* Monitor and manage individual coder performance
* Continuously review system, process efficiency and improvement opportunities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Health Sciences (Medical Classification)/Bachelor of Health Information Management or other equivalent qualification and eligibility for full membership to the Health Information Management Association of Australia
* Staff management experience within a medium to large complex health service
* Knowledge/experience with using an electronic medical record (EMR) and Cerner applications
* Knowledge/experience with using iPM (patient administration system)
* Experience with database management i.e. Power BI reports
* Experience with other hospital systems/software
