The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounting Officer to provide high-quality operational research finance business partnering services to this role. You'll deliver accurate financial analysis, budgeting advice and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
This position will be responsible for preparing and analysing complex financial reports supporting internal stakeholders with budget development and ensuring financial acquittals meet external funding rules and university policies. You'll regularly liaise with researchers and administrative staff to provide tailored advice, monitor grant conditions and milestones, and resolve financial issues as they arise. The role also involves conducting detailed data analysis using university systems, maintaining accurate financial records and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification with progress towards CA / CPA accreditation preferred but not essential, along with demonstrated experience in financial administration, reporting and analysis. Your strong communication skills will enable you to clearly explain financial concepts to a variety of audiences while your analytical mindset will help you identify and solve problems quickly. Proficiency with systems like SAP, excellent time management, attention to detail and a proactive team-focused attitude will set you apart in this dynamic and rewarding position.
