The Opportunity Cochlear is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and manage manufacturing resources to deliver short term targets in line with the overall manufacturing strategy. The role will require the development and execution of plans to meet critical business outcomes including developing people and teams, achieving quality and delivery targets, while maintaining a safe work environment. This is a permanent full time role based in either Cochlear’s Macquarie University or Lane Cove sites. Your responsibilities will include… Establish, develop and coach team to meet current and future business needs. Develop and drive short term (daily & weekly) delivery of production targets in the areas of People, Quality, Capacity, Customer Service and Cost Ensure risks to volume, quality or product cost are identified and managed at all times using a clear, consistent and visible process that prioritises actions with other departments to resolve constraints Work in collaboration with other peers to ensure consistent application of lean tools and techniques across Manufacturing. Support the introduction and commercialisation of new technologies and products into manufacturing by collaborating with key stakeholders in the V&V and subsequent phases of PIP in order to meet required ramp, yield and cost targets. Develop, lead and manage continuous improvement programs designed to increase capacity and flexibility and reduce product cost Develop, maintain and execute, in collaboration with other departments and key stakeholders, an overall talent plan. Drive engagement of Team members and team leaders by instituting appropriate 'people' processes and practices, evolving their application and ensuring compliance and consistency About You: 5 experience in a similar role Engineering degree is preferred. Lean manufacturing culture leader, excited to be a problem solver and waste eliminator. Confidently communicate in a verbal or written way, in 1:1 or small and large group scenarios. Deliver clear messaging and influence outcomes via coaching and motivating. Able to prioritise and deliver Business needs, can explain the why to engage the team or business. Able to work in Macquarie University and Lane Cove sites Ability to work both morning (6am-2pm) and afternoon (2pm-10pm) shifts Cochlear’s mission is to help people hear and be heard.
