Location: Hobsons Bay Civic Centre & libraries locations. Permanent full time. Band 6 $95,147.56 to $105,035.66 + superannuation. Closing date: 06/05/2026 11:30 pm.
About the Role
Provide leadership and strategic direction to frontline Community Learning & Service Centres (CLSC) teams, overseeing day‐to‐day operations of Williamstown and Altona North Community Libraries. Focus on delivering high quality and customer‐centred services, leading operational improvement to respond to evolving community needs through effective oversight of systems, partnerships and people leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support frontline library teams across multiple sites to deliver excellent service.
* Oversee daily operations of Williamstown and Altona North Community Libraries.
* Manage and optimise the Library Management System and service access processes.
* Contribute to strategic planning and implement service improvements aligned to Council priorities.
* Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and the local community.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership experience managing customer‐focused teams across multiple locations.
* Strong operational experience in libraries or community facilities, including OHS and systems.
* Ability to think strategically and respond to emerging community needs.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in librarianship or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
Pre‐Employment Requirements
* National Police Record Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC).
* Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights.
