Our professional support staff also have the opportunity to be involved in our co-curricular programs, working closely students, be that on the sporting field, on stage or otherwise.The roleApplications are currently invited from experienced Registered Psychologists to join our pastoral care team in the part time (4 days/week) role of School Psychologist, Years 7-8. Note: there is the potential for this role to work 5 days a week by negotiation. This role will be offered from the commencement of Term 3 2025 through to the end of Term 2 2026 to cover for a colleague on leave during this time.Commencing in July 2025, you will be responsible for the provision of counselling support to students in the Secondary School, with a focus on boys in Years 7 and 8. In addition to this, the School Psychologist works closely with other School Psychologists, Heads of House and the Learning Strategies team to identify students with special learning and social/emotional needs.RoleAs this is a significant role in the delivery of our pastoral care structure, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in:Providing psychological services to adolescents, particularly boys, in Years 7 through to 12;Collaborating with academic and academic support staff to ensure the individual needs of boys are being met;Supporting staff with strategies for managing individual or group issues;Interpreting psycho-educational assessments;Engaging with parents and care-givers of boys, providing support and referrals as required;Interacting with external agencies and medical practitioners as required to support the needs of students.Full registration as a Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential, as is a current employee Working with Children Check.
