We are seeking an experienced Commerical Manager to support a BESS project. About the Role The Commercial Manager will focus on bidding and delivering a large-scale renewable energy infrastructure project across New South Wales.
With an initial focus on pre-contracts, this role will oversee the commercial and contractual performance of the renewable EPC business delivering a BESS (battery energy storage systems), this role will be responsible for the commercial lifecycle of the project from pre-contract through execution to final close-out, ensuring compliance with local regulatory frameworks (NEM, ARENA, CEFC), driving profitability and managing risk across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. Manage review and contract negotiation for EPC and subcontractor agreements during tender stage. Interface with developers, IPPs and asset owners to ensure successful delivery and commercial outcomes. Ensure all contractual obligations are met, including performance guarantees, LDs, warranties and milestone payments. Support the project team in preparation of claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT) and dispute resolution in accordance with Australian construction law. Lead all commercial functions on Renewable EPC BU including budgeting, cost management, cash flow forecasting and reporting. Collaborate with procurement teams to structure commercial terms with major equipment suppliers (PV modules, inverters, BESS units). Support the procurement process to ensure competitive sourcing, risk mitigation and compliance with supply agreements. Serve as the commercial liaison with clients, subcontractors, consultants and financial institutions. Engage with external advisors including legal, insurance and quantity surveying consultants as required. Represent the business in client meetings, progress reviews and audits. Lead a multidisciplinary commercial team including contract managers and contract administrators. Hire and allocate commercial resources to the projects. Develop internal processes, systems, and reporting standards to ensure transparency and governance. Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture aligned with Samsung’s values. About You Tertiary qualification in commerce, law or equivalent degree. Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in construction industry. Adept at identifying key stakeholders and engage their support. Advanced level of influencing, interpersonal and negotiation skills that establish productive relationships and partnerships.
