The Academy delivers structured player development programs for boys and girls aged 8–18 years across both development and high-performance levels. Position Summary
The Football Development Officer (Male Program) is a newly created position that will focus exclusively on the growth, coordination, and delivery of NRFA's male football programs.
The role is responsible for coaching and managing male development and high-performance squads, mentoring coaches, coordinating training and matchday operations, and supporting the Technical Director in implementing the Academy's strategic plan for male football.
This position is distinct from the existing Football Development Officer (Female Program) and has been established to meet the increased operational and coaching demands within NRFA's expanding male programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality training sessions for male development and two male high-performance squads in accordance with NRFA's football curriculum.
· Manage male teams during matches, ensuring adherence to performance standards and development outcomes.
· Support the Technical Director in program planning, session design, and player assessments.
· Mentor and support lead and assistant coaches within the male program.
· Coordinate male player selection, performance tracking, and match analysis using tools such as Veo and Sports Session Planner.
· Liaise with parents, players, and community clubs to strengthen male participation pathways.
· Organise and oversee friendly matches, tournaments, and carnivals for male squads.
· Assist in planning and delivering special projects such as the male talent identification initiatives.
· Ensure programs are compliant with relevant policies, legislation, and safety standards.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
· Football Australia / AFC C Diploma (or higher) – essential.
· Minimum 1-2 years' experience in football coaching and program management within a male youth program – essential.
· Demonstrated experience in football operations and technical program delivery.
· Proven ability to plan and deliver structured player development sessions.
· Experience using performance analysis and planning tools (e.g. Veo, Sports Session Planner).
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging players, parents, and community stakeholders.
· Valid Working with Children Check – essential.
· Current driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate as required.
· Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
